The canon HF10 has dual recording system that will capture videos and photos to either Secure Digital High Capacity(SDHC)memory card or Internal flash memory but not both at same time. However,you can record to the internal memory first then it can be copied to memory card. Secure Digital High Capacity cards are not same as Secure Digital memory cards however they appear identical.
The newer cards use technology that requires a special card reader which is supported by SDHC. These SDHC cards can be physically fit into the slot but can not read unless the reader card supports it. So it is very necessary to choose right memory card which is supported by your device.
